Job Title: Provider Account Manager

Location: Mobile Role/Scotland

Salary Range: £49,500 - £60,500 - Car Allowance

Role purpose:

  • To effectively create, build and maintain effective relationships with a portfolio of subcontractors who hold a contract with CITB for apprenticeship delivery.
  • To ensure that operational performance and quality of provision are monitored and managed against the provider framework to support the achievement of agreed standards and targets and to continuously improve the quality of delivery and learner experience
  • To manage at-risk provision ensuring that issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently resulting in minimal disruption to the learner or their employer.
  • To work with the Funding and Compliance team to ensure subcontractors are fully compliant with all contractual requirements, following up audit and compliance assurance activities as required.
  • To support the development of effective relationships with key stakeholders to improve ways of working and the effectiveness of our support and management of subcontractors. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Role specific:

  1. Using the provider management framework, manage a portfolio of sub-contractors against quantitative, qualitative and financial KPIs. Take effective measures where there is underperformance or a failure to comply with contractual requirements. Agree and manage improvement plans with subcontractors to improve performance against the framework.
  2. Proactive lead on quality improvement, with support from the quality team, to ensure the quality and effectiveness of delivery and the provision of high quality teaching and learning, and a supportive and productive learner experience. Provide effective and timely feedback on the provider’s SAR and QIP.
  3. Provide and analyse robust and timely data to support the effective management of learners and delivery of the managing agency contract. Contribute to the development of benchmarking data and share with providers to support them to improve their performance.
  4. Proactively support the safeguarding of learners by understanding provider policy and practices, effective sharing of data and monitoring any issues that arise.
  5. Manage learner progress and assessment and find effective solutions when there are obstructions.
  6. Manage at-risk provision, mitigate issues and minimise the impact on learners and their employers.
  7. Support the Funding and Compliance team to ensure the subcontractor is compliant.
  8. Liaise with the other Provider Account Managers and the Provider Relationship Manager to ensure consistency of communications and standards are embedded.
  9. Support the Senior Management Team to make effective decisions on the commissioning and de-commissioning of provision and providers.
  10. Promote positive working relationships with Providers, SQA, SDS, internally within CITB and with other sector parties.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential

  • Good knowledge and experience of managing large/complex contracts and working with subcontractors.
  • Experience of project management techniques, managing performance and financial management
  • Understanding of the latest developments within the sector – especially the construction sector
  • Experience in delivering performance through others.
  • Analytical skills in order to be able to evaluate information and data.
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience in contributing towards planning, budgeting and policy
  • Communication, influencing and diplomacy skills in order to be able to achieve the best

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the apprenticeship system in Scotland
  • Knowledge and understanding of the qualification system in Scotland.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Data Protection
  • Experience of government funded
  • Working within education/training and ideally knowledge/experience of assessment & assessors
  • Experience of managing or carrying out assessment /verification

Special Conditions/Other Requirements:

Travel as required throughout Scotland.
