About the role:
The Product Developer is responsible for project managing the development of new products, and the ongoing development of existing products, to ensure they meet the requirements of CITB’s strategic objectives and the needs of industry.
Project Management:
- Development of detailed project plans with clearly identified objectives, timelines, risks and issues
- Effectively manage project delivery on an ongoing basis; monitoring and reporting on progress; managing timescales, budget and quality; and proactively managing risks and issues
- Design, allocate and manage work packages to internal and external experts
- Identify and consult with key stakeholders (internal and external) in any particular development project ensuring that they are consulted.
- Conduct post project (lessons learnt etc.) and highlight any potential future improvements
- Ensure that all projects are sufficiently resourced and that timelines for completion are both reasonable and are aligned to the product release cycle
Product Awareness:
- Develop a full and complete understanding of your product group and support the development of the product roadmap
- Inform the development of new processes to support products and services
- Analyse product data and market research to support the production of new products and services
Essential:
- Project Management professional qualification such as APM or Prince2 qualification (or be willing to work towards this)
- Education to A level standard (or equivalent)
- Experience of delivering projects in a commercial environment
- Clear, confident and persuasive communicator and presenter at appropriate levels
- Ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally
- Self-motivated and able to plan and organise own workload
- Strong problem solving skills
